Creemore is a former village in Simcoe County, which is now officially a part of Clearview Township, sitting on the Eastern side of the Niagara Escarpment. It is approximately 1hr 45 mins from Toronto and has a total land area of 1.58 sq km, with a population of 1,170.

In 1842 Creemore became a popular place to settle, and a thriving village (with a population of about 800) boasting many businesses. The village's founder, Edward Webster (an Irish entrepreneur), named the village Creemore after the Irish phrase "cron mor," meaning "big heart." Edward also named streets after his family: Elizabeth, Francis, Wellington, Alice, and William.

When visiting Creemore, you can learn more about the village's history by reading the historical signs that have been placed around the town. Some historical sites include: 4 churches built before the 20th century, a school building constructed before the 20th century, and an old bridge built around the same time. Some other popular Creemore attractions include: the Creemore Brewery, the annual Copper Kettle festival, and the world’s smallest jail – built in 1892!

The town of Bracebridge is located within the muni

The town of Bracebridge is located within the municipality of Muskoka, and was originally built around the waterfall on the Muskoka River – making it the centre of town! Bracebridge is also known for its other waterfalls, such as Wilson's Falls and High Falls. The population is 17,305, with a total land area of 628.22 sq km. Bracebridge was incorporated as a village in 1875, and then as a town in 1889.

In the early development of Bracebridge, the falls were used as a power source and powered the first factory. Once the Grand Trunk Railway arrived in town, Bracebridge became a transportation hub for the entire area. In the 1980s, the average price of wild land was $2-$5 per acre, with "improved" land going for $10 per acre. In 1894, Bracebridge was the first town in Ontario that had its own hydro generating station.

Bracebridge is well known for its winter festival, "Fire and Ice," which hosts a slide down the main street hill, among many other exciting attractions! It is also home to Santa's Village, inspired by the town being halfway between the North Pole and the equator. Bracebridge is about 2 hours north of Toronto, and is a popular summer destination as well as a beloved home to its locals.
